I am Dr Jonna Kayatz (CPsychol) DPsych MSc PGDip B.B.A.
I am an English and Finnish speaking HCPC registered Chartered Counselling Psychologist (BPS), a registered EuroPsy Psychologist, and SGfB and BACP registered Counsellor and Psychological Therapist. As an independent practitioner I offer individually tailored, evidence-based, integrative psychological counselling support for individuals, couples and groups. If you are experiencing difficulties, don’t hesitate — get in touch for an initial conversation.
Psychological counselling can help you to relate to your challenges and distress in a more helpful way, create flexibility and shifts in perspectives and patterns, movement and new energy that did not previously feel present or possible.
The core conditions of acceptance, warmth, respect and honesty are considered as the essential components in successful therapy. I seek to offer a safe, confidential and a non-judgmental environment so that you can use the therapeutic space to explore and make sense about your challenges.
I work with adults 18+ years; young adults, adults, elderly adults (80+). All different adult life stages have their unique challenges and opportunities for growth.
A safe, therapeutic space either online or in-person, to explore and work on the parts of your life
that you want to improve.
It can be sometimes a daunting process to look for psychological support. I offer a free 15-20 min. initial consultation to answer your questions
and to see if I am the right person to support you. All contact is strictly confidential. I aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours.

HOW I WORK
RELATIONAL | COLLABORATIVE | TRAUMA-INFORMED | EVIDENCE-BASED
Psychological counselling can be transformative. It can open new possibilities and perspectives for being in the world and relating to oneself and one’s problems.
Due to the rigorous doctoral level training I can provide a range of different psychological interventions and hold space for difficult experiences. Different modalities can be more suitable to different challenges.
My overall approach is pluralistic, which means that I am able to consider in which ways the various models of psychological
therapies can enrich and be combined and integrated to support
the needs of the client considering also the the current evidence-base and research.
Relational wounds are healed in relationships. This means that relational wounds need a relational response. Contemporary research reveals that the nature of early attachment relationships strongly predicts one’s ability to regulate emotions, our flexibility and adaptation in times of stress. Therefore, the therapeutic relationship becomes the vessel and ‘space’ for corrective emotional experience that can enable healing.
Your own strengths and resources, as well as your self-determination, cultural context and personal life values are of particular significance in my therapeutic approach.
